ฉันมีโอกาสได้อ่านบทความหนึ่ง...ซาบซึ้งไปทั้งหัวใจ บทความนี้ อ้างอิงจากหนังสือ " บันทึกของพ่อ " แต่งโดย คุณพีระพงศ์ สุขแก้ว ใจความสำคัญตอนหนึ่งซึ่งทำให้เราได้รับรู้ถึงความรักของในหลวงที่ทรงมีต่อพสกนิกรของพระองค์ คือ พระองค์ท่านทรงพระเนตรเทียมข้างขวาตั้งแต่พระชนมายุ 20 พรรษา เนื่องจากทรงประสบอุบัติเหตุทางรถยนต์ขณะทรงประทับอยู่ที่ประเทศสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ ในขณะนั้นรถยนต์พระที่นั่งชนกับรถบรรทุกอย่างแรง เป็นเหตุให้เศษกระจกกระเด็นเข้าพระเนตรขวา พระอาการสาหัส
กระทั่งในเวลาต่อมา แม้พระอาการพ้นขีดอันตรายแล้ว หากแต่ยังทรงมีพระอาการแทรกซ้อนที่พระเนตรขวา คณะแพทย์ถวายการรักษาอีกหลายครั้ง ทว่าพระอาการของพระเนตรขวาไม่ดีขึ้น คณะแพทย์จึงถวายคำแนะนำให้พระองค์ทรงพระเนตรเทียมในที่สุด
ท้ายบทความ ผู้เขียนได้ทิ้งท้ายไว้น่าประทับใจ...
" ลองใช้มือข้างหนึ่งยกขึ้นปิดตา แล้วจะรู้ว่ายากเพียงใดที่จะทำงาน…นั่นคือความเสียสละอันยิ่งใหญ่ของในหลวงเพื่อราษฎรที่รักยิ่งของพระองค์…"
ผ่านมาจนถึงวันนี้ 63 ปี แล้ว ที่พระองค์ท่านทรงใช้พระเนตรเพียงข้างเดียวทรงงานหนัก เพื่อดูแลทุกข์สุขของเราทุกคนอย่างมิทรงรู้ท้อ... ฉันภูมิใจที่เกิดมาเป็นคนไทย... และมีบุญได้เป็นพสกนิกรของพระองค์

I read the book..." Diary of Dad " by Pirapong Sukkaew, it is high impressive all in my heart. The most important part of this book made me truely know the love of His Majesty the King to his people. It says, he has been using the artificial right eye since he was only 20 years old because he got accident while he was in Switzerland. At that time, his car was crashed by a truck and was a cause that a piece of the broken glasses went into his right eye. His symptom was so seriously.
In time to come, even he felt better and the danger was over but unfortunately he still got the problem with his right eye. The doctors cured his right eye several times but it was not better. So the doctors advised him to use the artificial one finally.
At the end, the author wrote impressively...
" Try to close your one eye, you will understand how really difficult to work is... This is a great devotion of His Majesty the King to work hard for his beloved people "
It is now 63 years that His Majesty the King has been using only his one eye to work hard for all Thai since he became to be the king when he was only 20 years old and has never been discouraged.
I am proud to be Thai and his people...
